LMU Kids' 2K and 4K

Course Summary
At Lonely Mountain Ultra, we love seeing kids of all ages get out on the trails and enjoy being active. So we’re thrilled to host two kids races on event weekend: a 2K event for the younger kids, ages 5 – 10, and a 4K event for older kids, ages 11 – 15. Both events are timed, but the focus is 100% on fun and participation.
Kids will start in the event village, just like all the ‘big kid’ runners who are out on course, enjoying the excitement of every Lonely Mountain race. From there, the race loop heads off through the property in the same direction that 22K, 50K, 50M and 104K runners first started in many hours before. Runners will turn right to enjoy a scenic pass by the olive grove before traversing along a fence line that takes them to the far side of the property. They will then enjoy some beautiful track before a shallow creek crossing, before popping out on the property boundary to tackle a short, but genuine trail-based climb toward Mitchells Way.
Once conquering this challenge the kids will be at their own ‘high point’ of the course and just like the adult runners will now see the race village below them and calling them home. They will follow the same way home as the final finish route for the 11K and 22K course, swinging left into the race village and under the finishing arch for the 2K runners. 4K runners will head back out for a second lap before their big finish.

A 2K loop course through the event site, starting and ending at the LMU finish area.

- Names on race bibs (for entries prior to 24 September 2023)
- Finisher's medal
- Start and finish precinct
- Hydration and refuelling station
- Marshalls on course

Parents or guardians must provide consent and sign our race waiver as part of the registration process. Parents or guardians may accompany kids on the 2K course free of charge if desired.
Note: There will be no registrations on the day of the event.
